He has also been named Player of the Series in the Ashes and ODI Player of the Year in 2010. Anderson has achieved several records, including the most consecutive Test wickets, most Test wickets by an England bowler, most wickets in a calendar year, and most wickets in a Test match.

2. Bob Willis

Bob Willis was one of the most successful English cricketers of all time. He is best remembered for his bowling and his ability to take wickets. 

325 Test wickets and a 25.20 average were his final career totals. He was also a member of the 1975 World Cup champions.

He was awarded an MBE for his services to cricket in 1977. He was also part of several successful English teams in the 80s and 90s.

3. Fred Trueman

Fred Trueman was one of England’s greatest cricketers who played for Yorkshire and England. In test cricket, he was the first pitcher to record 300 dismissals.

He also took 2,304 wickets in first-class cricket. He was known for his ability to bowl fast and accurately and his fearlessness in the face of the best batters. He was welcomed into the ICC Cricket Hall of Fame in 2009 after being named one of Wisden’s Cricket Players of the Year in 1952.

He was also the first professional cricketer to be knighted for his services to the game. His most outstanding achievement was the Ashes defeat of Australia in 1953 when he took 15 wickets in the series. 

He was also a member of the England side that triumphed in the 1954–1955 Ashes in Australia. He was an actual game icon, and his legacy will live for generations.

4. Stuart Broad

Stuart Broad is a professional cricketer who has achieved success and acclaim in the international arena. He is a right-arm fast-medium bowler who plays for England in all game formats and is currently ranked as the fifth-highest Test wicket-taker in England’s history.

As part of his accomplishments, Broad was named Man of the Match in the 2013–14 Ashes series and was a member of the 2013 ICC Test Championship winning team. He had the most wickets (22), making him the tournament’s top wicket-taker.

The cricketer has also succeeded in the IPL, playing for the Mumbai Indians for three seasons. In the 2018 IPL season, he was the leading wicket-taker for his team, with 17 wickets.

Broad also receives several awards and honors, including the 2011 Wisden Cricketers of the Year award, the 2014 ECB Cricketer of the Year award, and the 2017 ICC Test Player of the Year award. He is indeed one of the most successful cricketers in the world today.

5. Jofra Archer

Jofra Archer is a Barbadian-born English cricketer. He is an all-around player who bats right-handed and bowls right-arm fast-medium. Archer has achieved great success and numerous achievements in his career. 

As a member of the England side that won the ICC Cricket World Cup in 2019, Archer helped the country become the first to have a team win the tournament at home. A member of Wisden’s Five Cricketers of the Year, he was selected Player of the Tournament for his remarkable efforts.

In 2020, he was part of the England team that won the inaugural ICC World Test Championship. He was also named Wisden’s Leading T20 Cricketer of the Year in 2021. 

Archer has also played in multiple T20 leagues, including the IPL, Big Bash, and the Caribbean Premier League. He has achieved numerous successes, including winning the Player of the Tournament award in the CPL in 2019.

6. Ben Stokes

He is renowned for his all-round ability with both bat and ball and is considered one of the greatest all-rounders in the modern game.

Stokes has achieved tremendous success on the international stage, winning the ICC Player of the Year award in 2019, the ICC Test Player of the Year award in 2021, and being named the Wisden Leading Cricketer of the World in 2020. He has been a part of two Ashes series wins for England, memorably playing a starring role in England’s miraculous victory in the 2019 Headingly Test.

He has also been awarded an MBE for his services to cricket.
